Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 1/2 cups chopped green pepper
- 1 1/2 tbsp finely chopped onion
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1/4 water
- 4 cups 3/4- inch cubes turnip, cooked
- 1/2 cup grated Gruyere cheeseĀ <!–more–>
Preparations:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees Celcius. Butter a 8-cup casserole.
- Heat 2 tbsp butter in medium saucepan.
- Add green pepper and onion and cook gently until onion is very lightly browned, stirring.
- Sprinkle in flour, salt and pepper and stir to blend.
- Remove from heat and add chili sauce adn water.
- Stir to blend.
- Return to moderate heat and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
- Stir in cooked turnip.
- Pour into prepared casserole. Sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is very hot.
